Assignment #2 work in progress

Image
For assignment 2 I am apart of the web team, more specifically the web structure and overall UX. Since not all of the information is finalized so far I have been organizing all documents and keeping track of whats done and what needs to be done. I have made a folder containing the final title treatment, our color palette, the image drafted text, intro text, the high res images, the categories within devotion and decadence and our sketched out layout of what we want the website to look like.  I also have been messing around with wix to see what our options are regarding the gallery. Trying to come up with the best solution for how to preview the images as well as being able to see the corresponding labels while in preview mode.  Here is an attached screenshot of the lists of what we have done and what we need to get done!

Project Links

project#1 This template I was looking at how the front page is full screen which we are going to do with our title treatment, but also the distinct blocks when you move down the page. Thus indicating a new section of information where our 2 subcategories would go and then the about below that for our scrolling landing page.  project#2   For this website template I was really looking at how the gallery still has structure but it has more space to make it more breathable and less over whelming to look at.

WIX article responses

1.) Why is accessibility important for a museum exhibition site? It's important because we want the website and information to be inclusive to everyone. We want anyone wanting to check out the exhibition to do so with ease, if we didn't do this a good portion of the public would be excluded before they even found it.  2.) Give one specific example of a practice our class can apply to our web project to make it more accessible. I think including the alternate text to the images in our soon to be gallery and videos as well as audio to the related text. I think these two elements are very achievable and go sort of hand and hand with each other to make our website more accessible to others.

Assignment #1 title treatments

I took the critiques from the last class and applied to 2 of my previous designs and improve on readability and overall design. Then the very top one is a whole new design using techniques and ideas discussed in the previous class, and I followed the same sort of style I did with the other 2 using the same font and use of empty space. Exhibition Title Drafts

I found this title treatment while I was researching different title walls. I thought it could work with the layout of the title wall because even though it isn't the final title it has a long subtitle like this one does. I also like how the title is taking up the left-hand side and the graphic on the right is taking up the whole side to make t feel balanced.  These are my title treatments, I played around with layouts and how they could possibly look. The last one I was playing around with the idea of an actual birds nest and having the title wrap around the nest and having that subtitle in the middle.
